God of War III is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) exclusively for the PlayStation 3 console. It was released in April 2010.

The game concludes the third installment of the critically acclaimed God of Pandora trilogy, following Kratos' quest for revenge against his brother Zeus, king of Mount Olympus. The story is set after the events of God of War II and takes place within Greek mythology's world of ancient Greece during a time known as the Twilight Hours between daybreak and dawn.

Gameplay in God of War III largely remains faithful to its predecessors; players control Kratos through challenging platforming sections, hack-and-slash combat sequences against hordes of mythological creatures and gods. New features include improved graphics with detailed environments and character models, enhanced physics engine for more realistic interactions between objects and characters, a new 'rage' meter that allows the player to temporarily transform into the Rage of Poseidon or Gaia depending on their choice at specific points throughout each level.

In addition to single-player campaign mode there's also co-op multiplayer support allowing two players can play through levels together locally via split-screen as well as online over internet connection using PlayStation Network service.
